Warwick Group Consultants Secures $12 Million for Tybee Island Beach Nourishment
Washington, DC – September 29, 2026
Warwick Group Consultants is pleased to announce it has secured $12 million in federal funding for the City of Tybee Island’s periodic beach nourishment project.
The funding arrived outside of the typical USACE work plan by way of a special appropriation. Through its ‘Building Infrastructure. Not Paperwork’ initiative, the US Army Corps of Engineers identified $100 million in unused funds from completed projects and reallocated those funds to high-priority infrastructure projects nationwide, including Tybee Island.
This priority funding highlights the dedication of the Warwick Group to elevate the importance of this project to the highest levels of government. The Warwick Group is grateful to work with Tybee Island, Senators Ossoff and Warnock, Representatives Carter and Collins, and state officials to ensure the City is protected from coastal storms and erosion as we enter the winter season.
Tybee Island will provide an additional $8 million to fund the placement of approximately 1.3 million cubic yards of sand along the City’s 5 miles of beach. Work is anticipated to start in December of 2026.
