FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Washington, D.C., May 10, 2024 – Warwick Group Consultants, the nation’s leading coastal advocacy firm, has secured $500,000 in funding in the United States Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) FY24 Work Plan for a general reevaluation report to identify a new borrow site for the City of North Wildwood’s beach nourishment project. The City of North Wildwood has sustained severe erosion year after year to its coastline. This funding will allow the City as well as USACE to identify additional sources of sand for North Wildwood’s federal beach renourishment project. Further, this funding will ensure that property, critical infrastructure, and life are better protected from future coastal storms and erosion. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Washington, D.C., March 8, 2024 – Warwick Group Consultants, the nation’s leading coastal advocacy firm, has secured $4.85 million in funding from the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development appropriations bills during the Fiscal Year 2024 budget process. This funding will be used to support two critical west coast projects including: • $4,000,000 for the City of North Bend, OR for an affordable workforce housing project • $850,000 for the City of Solana Beach, CA to complete traffic calming and multi-modal improvements along Lomas Santa Fe Drive The City of North Bend is rapidly expanding in preparation for a major port expansion. This funding allows the City to demolish the old Coos County annex and construct affordable workforce housing for critically needed workers in education, public safety, logistics, and the healthcare industry. The City of Solana Beach is undertaking major multi-modal and traffic calming improvements to Lomas Santa Fe Drive, the primary east-west corridor through the City. Warwick Group helped kick off the project by securing $7,000,000 in FY22 to complete the eastern portion of the project.
